2023-2024 Officer Elections

President Candidates:

Lilli Rose

Year: Senior
Majors: Chemistry and HES conc. Sports Medicine
Hobbies: I love going on adventures with my dog and making her treats. I also enjoy baking human treats too and try to make them inclusive to dietary restrictions.
Why I want to run for this position: I would love to be the President of CSU's Chem club because I have enjoyed this semester in the club and want to inspire others. I would love to keep our meetings fun and build on the information provided to members to improve their success as a chemist on campus.

Vice President Candidates:

Shoshana Vigil

Hi everyone! I am Shoshana, I use She/her pronouns and I am going into my 5th year of college with a chemistry major and an ASL minor. I am super excited to run for a fourth year of being a chemistry club officer! This semester I want to try and explore the Vice President role to help boost and support new members in new officer positions. Outside of chemistry I like reading, hiking, and spending time with friends. I'm very excited to see where 2023-2024 takes us!

Secretary Candidates:

Kelly Brucker

My name is Kelly Brucker, I use she/her pronouns, I am a 3rd (coming on 4th) year chemistry major with a GES minor. I love to cook and go for hikes with my friends. I'd like to rerun for the secretary position. I have really enjoyed being an officer this semester and I would love to be involved again this next semester.

Demo Specialist Candidates:

Rean Savi

My name is Rean. I use He/Him pronouns and am going into my senior year. I am applying for the demo specialist position. As a biochemistry major with a minor in chemistry and a year of training as the assistant demo specialist I will be a great fit for the demo specialist position. I am interested in the demo specialist position because putting on shows that show the exciting side of chemistry caters to why I am interested in chemistry. Being able to introduce the wonder of chemistry to my peers is an exciting opportunity. Outside of chemistry I am a beekeeper, love hikes, camping, archery, and playing board games with my friends.

Assistant Demo Specialist Candidates:

Lizzy Sodnicar

My name is Lizzy Sodnicar (she/her/hers), I am in my third year with a chemistry major and a food science minor. My main hobby right now is watching movies that are either weird/indie or stuff from my middle school era to bring back that nostalgic energy.

I would love to run for assistant demo specialist for several reasons. Firstly, I have loved seeing the demos we have done in past meetings and at the Halloween show. I think it would be amazing to be able to help out with them. The type of chemistry that brings an element of fun to learning is what pushed me to pursue this path at CSU, so being able to bring that to other CSU students or the kids that will be at our other events would be inspiring for me. I also have experience performing for younger audiences, so if we did a similar "mad scientist" demo at the next Halloween show I think we could make something fun as we have in the past.

Public Relations Representative Candidates:

Haley Bogle

My name is Haley, and I use she/her/hers pronouns! I am currently a third year Zoology major, going into my senior year. I love critters such as butterflies, moths, bees, deer, seals, etc. I also love to play guitar and be outdoors! I love being able to share my passion for science with others and encouraging diversity and inclusivity in STEM! Being the PR representative this past year was such an amazing experience, so I hope to be able to continue!

Media Specialist Candidates:

Sophie Goik

Hey! My name is Sophie and I am going into my senior year as an Art student. I love animals, nature, and art :) I'm usually out taking photos, or hammocking with my cat. Although I've never actually taken a chemistry course, I do enjoy learning about science and helping others learn through our fun demos! It was so much fun being the Media Specialist for this last semester, and I'm very very excited to do it again.
